Here is a new thought.

The Law of Moses as 1984 Big Brother Societal engineering.
Clue: assinine and ilogical rules.
This requires a breakdown of how to create a robotic totalitarian society and a comparison wiht the Law.

Either way, God was fucking lousy at it. Sure he killed tens of thousands by his own acts in the early days, but while the kids kept being non-conformists kinda stopped.. until he turned over ht ekilling to the Mededs and Persians.
